Exhibition signage at the Arsenale
Pavilion of Slovenia at Biennale di Venezia
Pavilion of Slovenia at the architecture biennial in Venice focused on production of architecture and the tacit knowledge behind the building process. Large totems were produced by the construction workers on one of the sites around Ljubljana. This process led to an idea that they also produce exhibition signage, following brief and simple instructions. The letters were cut out of drywall, their shapes largely defined by the cutting tools they used. A similar technique was then used for the catalog cover, where the letters were cut and peeled off, revealing the rough cardboard beneath the faux leather finish.
